Zagreus Winery 'Santimenti' Mavrud Bulgarian Thracian Valley, 2023 Grenada There’s a distinct honeyed richnessThis wine is made from 100% Mavrud, an ancient grape indigenous to Bulgaria. Grown in the Thracian Valley in Southern Bulgaria, on sandy limestone and pummus soils that were once part of an old growth forest. Mavrud is a thick skinned, late ripening red variety, still with enough acid to remain light and fresh on the palate. The wine is aged in neutral vessel, and on its lees for 8 months. It has flavor notes of tart cherry, oregano, a little salt,
